Weaving Classes
Tuesdays, 7-9pm OR Thursdays, 10 am to 12
noon
We have 17 floor looms, offering students the choice of weaving on 4 or 8 harness, jack, countermarche or counterbalance looms, in 22" to 60" widths. In addition, we offer interested students the opportunity to pursue projects on inkle, tapestry or rigid heddle looms. Our students' work was recently featured in an exhibit at the Midwest City library.
We also offer a week-long fiber arts camp each summer as part of our children's summer programming. During this camp, 8-13 year olds learn about spinning and natural dyeing, and weave their own inkle loom shoelaces, pocketbags on cardboard looms, and small, colorful rugs on floor looms. Fiber Arts Camp
for Kids Ages 8-12 Dive into the world of weaving, spinning and dyeing! Activities include dyeing with kool-aid, and with natural dyes such as onion skins, bugs and magical indigo. Each child will have the opportunity to make a mug rug on a simple cardboard loom, to weave a pair of shoelaces using an inkle loom, and to weave a small rug on a floor loom.
